About
Dr. Waggenspack is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship-trained in shoulder surgery and elbow surgery. He has a special interest in complex shoulder injury/trauma, shoulder replacement and reconstruction, instability, and rotator cuff tears, as well as sports injuries to the shoulder and elbow.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Dr. Waggenspack attended Catholic High and LSU, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. He received his Doctor of Medicine and completed orthopaedic surgery residency at LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans.
He then specialized in shoulder and elbow surgery, completing a fellowship at Fondren / Texas Orthopedic Hospital under the primary mentorship of Drs. Hussein Elkousy, Gary Gartsman, and Brad Edwards. After 8 1/2 years in private practice in his hometown of Baton Rouge, he is excited to return to Houston to join Fondren Orthopedic Group and the shoulder/elbow fellowship.
Dr. Waggenspack enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He enjoys anything and everything outdoors, LSU athletics, car racing and playing music.
